E is for Education and Eggplant

I like education!

Well of course I do, I'm a teacher!

My education (post secondary) came from Central Michigan University.
Fire Up Chips!
While at CMU, I worked hard, studied lots, and made a few friends along the way.☺  My major was Cognitive Impairments and my minor was Child Development.  I graduated in 2004 (wow, I feel old!) and have taught or substitute taught for the majority of the past 7 years.  I've lived and taught in Michigan and Georgia.  I haven't found a teaching job since moving back to Michigan 2 years ago, but I keep looking.  In the meantime, I fill my time with substitute teaching, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.

Someday - soon, hopefully - I will find another teaching job (I'm willing to move again if anyone knows of any openings somewhere ☺).  Until then I'll educate the children in this area one day and one classroom at a time!

I don't like eggplant!

I don't know why I don't like them.  I've actually never tasted eggplant before, so I really have no right to form an opinion, but I just don't like them...

  1. You're funny.
I bet your students love you =)
I sub too (high school math!)
And did some grad work at EMU.
    Happy E day!

  2. Yes, my children would love you as a teacher! I am not a fan of eggplant either. I get teased that its a texture thing. But no matter how hard I try I just do not like it.

  3. Tara and Mercy - Thank you both for the compliments! I love teaching and I try my best to make it both fun and meaningful to my students as well! ☺

  4. oh, had i discovered your blog sooner, i could've told you we were hiring at my school (though we are all the way over in California!). sorry to hear that you have been looking for the last two years and have come up empty. At least you have been able to sub, right? Haha. I don't like eggplants either!!

Thanks for stopping by. Tell me what ya think!
